Training and Quals here
As a McTimoney Chiropractor, I consider myself fortunate that I find my job interesting, satisfying and very rewarding. I see a variety of people with headaches, back pain, trauma or sports injury related issues, sometimes having been in pain for a long time and putting a tremendous impact on the quality of life. What makes my job so good, is taking the time to listen carefully, investigate the cause and then use chiropractic and massage to help restore the wellbeing of the body, thus resulting in a happy patient. I particularly like to see a smiling, relieved face walk through the door, stating they cannot believe they feel so much better.
Unless there has been sport overuse, trauma or disease, injuries are largely due to everyday activities poorly performed over a period of time. Some examples are, daily slouching, driving for hours without a break, standing whilst favouring one leg or lifting awkwardly. Over time, this can cause strain in muscles and restriction in joints, leading to imbalance and uncomfortable symptoms.
Injury rarely occurs in isolation and usually involves a number of muscles and joint structures. McTimoney Chiropractic is a precise technique which is fast and accurate, there is no cracking and considers the whole body, not just a symptom. A treatment will usually involve assessment of the whole body, with muscle relief and adjustments applied where needed.
The number of treatments can depend upon the duration and extent of an injury and your general health. Typically it can take 2 to 6 treatments, with an average of 3, but each case is individual and progress is reviewed together each session.
